Weekend Results from Paul Eby -12 Apr 16
The club earned three big wins on the weekend, starting with the Premier women. They defeated cross-town rivals CW 27-17 in a match with playoff implications: They now sit on top of the standings, and a win in their remaining match next weekend (vs #3 Seattle) will allow them to stay there. Either way, the squad finishes 1st or 2nd and earns home field advantage for the provincial semi-finals.
The 1st div and 3rd div men both won their Island semi-final matches in convincing fashion, with the top squad defeating Port Alberni 56-19 and the 3rds overpowering Nanaimo 73-5. Both proceed to Island finals this weekend!
Coming Up:
As noted, the women have their final regular season match this Saturday against Seattle. As a special arrangement, the game will be held at Westhills Stadium at 6:15pm, following all of the 7’s games for the Langford international women’s tournament.
The men will be at home, hosting a pair of Island championship games: at 1pm the 3rds play Comox, and at 2:30 the 1sts have Cowichan.
